3 WEEKS until we go OVERSEAS for the first time in 2 years! So how long are we going?

Updated: May 2, 2022

I can't believe just how quickly this trip has come up... and we still have no plans booked after the first 6 weeks.

We have been putting a lot of thought into our long term plans, the commitments we have back in Australia, the number of Countries currently open to travel and have decided on a bit of a timeline, well at least for the first part of our trip.

Although we haven't booked a return ticket, YET, in the spirit of planning for things for next year, like School and Tafe for Liv, the sale of our investment property in North Qld and the quietening of the holiday season in Australia, we have decided that we will most likely return to Australia (for now) either mid March 2022 (if the tenants in our investment property vacate promptly and we need to do a tidy-up to list it on the market) or straight after Easter 2022.

By that stage we will probably have exhausted our bucket list destinations in South East Asia and the countries we can travel too. Funnily enough, departing and arriving from Australia will probably be the easiest option because of our low infection rates and high vaccination rates. So to go onwards to other places we will need to come home to reset anyway.

So the pencilled idea could look like this:

  1. Start of Dec-Mar/April - South East Asia, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia or Philippines.

  2. Jun-Jul - Japan 🙌

  3. Sep - unknown - Maldives (in the off peak season) Europe, Greece, Croatia, Spain, Italy, Morocco, Turkey.

  4. 2023 - Mexico / Cuba & Caribbean

So how are the plans coming along?...

AHHH-MAZING!

We have actually booked, locked and loaded all our Accommodation in the Maldives and Sri Lanka and I am now starting to look forward to Destination 3.

Included in this, we have also booked to work with 1 major Sponsor, 5 luxury resorts, a tour operator and a Beach Club so far as well!

To say I'm excited is an understatement!

To give you a bit of an idea of what we do and offer when we work with Travel Providers, what we charge for advertising on our Websites, and how we will not only make money from Travelling but work in exchange for accommodation or tours, checkout our Media Guide.

Things I have to finalise this week

1. Finish packing up the house & deep clean as we will potentially be out by the end of NEXT WEEK

2. Organise Travel Insurance

3. Organise Visa for Sri Lanka and a Split Stay Visa for the Maldives.

4. Get NEW luggage for all of us!

5. Get Christmas Present sorted.

Next time on the blog.
